I have been going to this practice for 2 years now and I have loved it! I first switched to them when I was 33 weeks pregnant with my first. I was able to get in with almost all of the providers and meet them before I had my son. I just had my second baby with them and Loren delivered here. I couldnt have asked for a better experience - she is very knowledgeable and makes you feel empowered!

The Capital Womens Care: Ashburn office is the practice I have stayed the longest at for OB/GYN care. It was difficult for me to find an OB/GYN practice that really listened to me regarding my menstrual health. After facing infertility, this doubled my concerns for finding the right practice. Every provider I have seen there really listened to my concerns. Midwife Loren Ivey delivered my baby :) She is one of the best providers I have seen, but the whole office - the Doctors, the techs who do the ultrasounds, all of the receptionists, and ALL of the midwives I have seen have exceeded my expectations regarding the care I received. Thank you!!

Dr. Hawa gave me my life back. I was 31 years old when I had to have a complete hysterectomy two days before I turned 32. I met Dr. Hawa after my doctor referred me to him in May of this year. I went in to have a 5cm cyst removed from my ovary that I thought was the reason for my painful periods, intense pelvic pain during exercise, and random bouts if pelvic pain around my cycle and ovulation. I left that surgery with a diagnosis of stage 4 endometriosis and my doctor telling me that while she can do hysterectomys she could not, nor any doctor in my town, do mine, but that I needed one if I wanted the pain to go away fully. I dont think I fully realized how difficult my life had gotten until I woke up from my hysterectomy. Dr. Hawa was able to save one of my ovaries to prevent me from going into menopause and was with me every step of the way. While there is no cure for endometriosis, Dr. Hawa had the skill to completely give me my life back. Its more then just the hysterectomy and the excision of my adhesions and endometriosis. My bladder was fused to my uterus leading to pain during my cycle (I kept going to the dr. to make sure it was not a bladder infection) now I no longer have the urgency I once did. I can run and play soccer with my daughter without feeling the urge to go to the bathroom or needing several breaks because of what I thought was a cyst but now know was endo pain. I cant wait to go to the gym again with my 11 year old or coach my 9 year olds cheer team. When coaching last year, doing practice for an hour would make me incapacitated for the rest of the night. While I will never know if another doctor could have preformed my hysterectomy, I do know that Dr. Hawa listened to every one of my concerns and even gave me some new things to think about. I have entered this phase of my life not thinking about what I have lost but rather what Dr. Hawa gave me: 32 years old and no longer planning my life around my period.

I have seen Dr Stokes for my first pregnant and he’s been my obgyn for years. I recently saw Erin young at the practice who was most probably the most filial professional I have ever met. Coming from a medical practice, she was highly unprofessional, rude, and didn’t care to hear the patients concern. I was told by the front office staff that I will have a consultation as well as a procedure and when I saw Erin she went on about she’s doesn’t know what goes on at the front and she doesn’t have the time to perform any procedure. I cried my eyes out in the parking lot because I waited for two weeks to get this appointment for her to tell me in a very rude manner, that I have to come back another day when I already had bad anxiety for two weeks waiting for this appointment. The staff is clueless to what is happening. Please do better if you are in the medical field and don’t hire professionals who took two mins out of their schedule to tell your the same results you already knew in the first place. Highly disappointed that I would have to change the practice when I loved the OB I have had for a while. Also fire ERIN YOUNG!!!! She should not be allowed to see patients when all she does is make them feel awful!!!!!!!

Loren, Dr. Hawa, and the capital women’s care team- are all so great. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the incredible support and care they provided throughout my pregnancy. The exceptional attention from Loren and Dr. Hawa played a pivotal role in helping me navigate the birth of my son, Oliver. I am deeply appreciative of their efforts in ensuring my safety and comfort during such a crucial time. Every visit to the office, I was treated with the upmost respect and all of my concerns were listened to. I felt that I was heard and listened to with every aspect of this pregnancy. My birth was not easy and not once did I feel scared because I knew that Dr Hawa and Loren were extremely competent, and made me feel completely cared for. I cannot thank them enough or say enough good things about this practice.

So I heard of Dr Hawa from a close friend of mine. She said he was her Dr. when he worked in Hagerstown Capital women. She said a lot of beautiful things about him so I decided to obtain fibroid consult with him at his current work place Loudoun Capital women. I will say seeking him and his team’s services was one of the best decision I ever made, no regret. He was very detailed and very understanding. My fibroid surgery went smoothly under his care and his team . Few months after I was blessed with the fruit of the womb. Dr . Hawa and his team have been very instrumental to my journey. Will conclude by saying that Dr Hawa is one of the best Drs , I have encounter in my life and his team is also very helpful, caring , and understanding. They really know their job. Thank you all for being part of my journey.

It is such a shame that I am writing this review because I heard good things about this practice. My first appointment was in September 2023 with Dr. Justice for my well woman exam. She was great! She took the time to answer my questions during the appointment and was very helpful. But after that first appointment I had not heard back from her regarding my pap results. I reached out through the portal several times and did not get results back several months later after I called the nurse line.It got worse when I had a breast MRI, per Dr. Justice’s orders, and I had to get a biopsy. I had to track down anyone in the CWC office that would discuss my MRI results and get me a referral for a biopsy. Dr. Justice did not call me regarding the MRI findings. When I left multiple messages on the nurse line about getting a biopsy referral, nobody had the courtesy to call and tell me that the referral was sent to the radiologist. I happened to find out that the radiologist had the referral after I logged into the MyChart account (not affiliated with CWC). I got the biopsy done and results came out weeks ago. We are now in June and I have not heard from Dr. Justice. Thankfully I was able to go to a specialist outside of CWC to look over my results.I am very disappointed as I was hoping to find a reliable GYN after moving to this area. It is even more disappointing because I left Dr. Justice’s office feeling thankful I found a reliable doctor. I was wrong unfortunately.

Update: Nicole the office manager was able to help me get an appointment scheduled very quickly when we got in touch. I appreciate the help, and as I said before, their doctors and midwives were very thorough and attentive during my pregnancy. While their care was good during my pregnancies, I cant seem to get a single person to answer the phone when I call to make a non OB appointment. I have called multiple times for several days and no one answers. On my last attempt to get through, I was put on hold and when they picked up they immediately hung up on me and switched the phone to lunch hours.

The delivery of my daughter on December 27th, 2023, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital was a whirlwind of concerning events. Midwife Kariann left me unattended while pushing for 45 minutes during a shift change. My epidural failed during the vacuum extraction attempts causing immense pain. The arrival of the anesthesiologists was delayed, and when they arrived, they struggled to administer an effective nerve block before my emergency C-section by Dr. Stokes. I was in excruciating pain. My medical records are contradictory saying I was “very comfortable throughout the procedure” but other sections say my pain was “now under control.”Unfortunately, my struggles continued after delivery. I was readmitted to the hospital on January 2nd with a uterine infection and sepsis. This resulted in a five-day separation from my newborn daughter.During this readmission, Dr. Duggals unexplained “nothing by mouth” order late in the evening caused immense anxiety as I feared I was being prepared for surgery. When I woke for my vitals, I noticed I was on an IV and asked to speak with the doctor. The nurse told me that Dr. Duggal didn’t want to wake me and had left for the evening. When I asked to see my medical record, the nurse replied that there was no explanation in my chart for the NPO order.Later during this stay, without conducting an examination, Dr. Costley dismissed my extreme pain as “bad posture from breastfeeding.”There was very poor communication from CWC throughout my stay, despite them taking over my care from the hospitalist without my permission. The office also had a medical student conduct my 6 week follow-up appointment without my consent. She had not read my chart. Dr. Stokes had also not reviewed my chart.

I am thrilled to write this review for Capital Women’s care staff. I delivered a baby girl on Dec 9th, 2023.The entire CWC team, from nurses, to midwives, to OBGYN doctors- the care was top notch!During my pregnancy journey, I saw all of the doctors and majority of the midwives at the practice. My experience with the Doctors and midwives, especially Kariann, Dr. Hawa, Dr. Tyan and Dr. Stokes has been exceptional. Nurse Adela is the sweetest! She was absolutely amazing! The whole team provided exceptional care throughout my pregnancy and delivery. From the initial prenatal appointments to the final push, the team were professional, compassionate, and supportive. Their expertise and guidance made me feel confident and prepared for the arrival of my baby girl. The delivery was a wonderful experience at Inova hospital, thanks to Dr. Hawas calm and reassuring presence. I felt heard and respected throughout the entire process. My daughter and I received top-notch care, and I am grateful for the positive experience.Nicole, the office manager is very nice and approachable. I highly recommend Capital Women’s care and Dr. Hawa to any expectant mother seeking exceptional OB-GYN care. They truly are the best!

Edited to say my husband and I recently had to interact with the billing team- quite a bit of back and forth and we were impressed with how Samar handled everything! She went above and beyond to help us. Most importantly to me, she did everything she said she would and then called us to reassure us that everything was taken care of! She was friendly and efficient, which are not very common anymore! Thank you, Samar!I live in Winchester but wanted to find an ob in the “city” due to all the doctors in my area being overbooked and overworked. I loved CWC!! I saw many doctors and Dr Dougle delivered my baby boy via C-section this past January! She was very thorough and kind. I am so happy she was the one to preform my surgery. She even removed a fibroid that she found while I was open. She went above and beyond. I was high risk so I also went to maternal fetal medicine for monitoring but I am so happy that capital woman’s care was my ob! There were no doctors I didn’t like and the front staff were so friendly and helpful! My rating of 4 stars and not 5 only comes from long weight times. My last handful of visits I was waiting in the waiting room lonngggg past my appointment time then waited when longer in the exam rooms. That is truly my only complaint!

I have been using this practice since my first pregnancy in 2015. I have seen the practice grow and change over the years all for the good. I have had multiple kinds of experiences here to include a live birth, miscarriage, and fetal demise. Just like the fact that it’s easy to rejoice while on the mountaintops, it’s easy for a practice to get great reviews when all goes right. In this profession, there are many times that not all pregnant women go home with a baby. It is during the difficult times that I think a practice shines. It has been my experience that during the difficult times, doctors at this practice show up and show their personal side being very compassionate and showing kindness. In particular Dr. Hawa held my hand and embraced me as the sonographer was trying to find a heartbeat for my baby girl. He visited with me at the hospital to ensure I was okay and to understand I did nothing wrong. He was concerned about all the appropriate follow-up care I would need including time mentally to cope with the grief. It doesn’t stop with the doctors, Loren Ivey, a midwife showed so much compassion and provided comfort in her words and follow up care to ensure I had everything I needed and continues to do so. To me that is the mark of a great practice. I would recommend this practice to anyone in need of OBGYN/Gynecology care.

This is a long overdue review!I delivered my first baby with them 16 months ago. I decided to give birth spontaneously and unmedicated. It was nurse midwife Elise who was on rotation at the hospital and she ended up birthing my baby. Dr. Hawa popped in a couple of times to check-in on me and to let us know he is around in case any complications arise. Let me tell you- it was such a smooth & calm birth experience that will forever live in my core memory. Nurse Elise provided me with the guidance and support that I needed to accomplish my birth plan. The experience felt so primal in such a powerful way all thanks to her. She is very kind, patient, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and truly cares about your maternal well-being even long after giving birth. A true gem 💎 I cant recommend her and her team of midwives highly enough and I look forward to having her birth my next future child/ren.Ive been going to CWC Ashburn for the past 5 years now. Im very happy with the entire team. I love them all - Dr. Hawa, Stokes, Duggal & Tyan are all very professional and competent providers. They all rotate which gave me a chance to meet them all of them during my well-womens visits and prenatal visits. Although it can be hard to schedule appointments because of their busy practice, they do their best to accommodate you and are very communicative. Overall, my experience with CWC team Ashburn is five stars.

I can’t speak for the quality of the Drs there, I can only comment on the worst ever experience with the front office staff and based on that they will NEVER see me there again. I had an appointment at 2pm and made sure I left my house super early to get there early. I showed up at 1:45 only to find out I was at the wrong location. So, I rushed back into my car, fought through construction on the way, even called while driving to let them know I had somehow gotten the locations mixed up. The lady on the phone told me that if I am more than 5 mins late, I will need to reschedule. I told her I will be there at 2:07 according to my GPS, she repeated her policy. I was still hopeful, after all, I waited 2 months to even get this appointment. After parking and elevator it was 2:08. The lady at the desk told me I was too late and needed to reschedule. She didn’t care, that I actually showed up early at the other location. She barely looked at me and had zero consideration or empathy whatsoever. Yes, it was my mistake, I should have triple checked the address, but to be treated with such coldness and this nonchalant “I don’t really care” attitude was quite frankly shocking. I am very aware how precious everyone’s time is, which is why I left super early to be there early. I made a mistake, no one’s fault but my own, however, the attitude of the receptionist speaks volumes. No, I did not reschedule and never will. I was so upset and left in tears. Very sad to see how far human kind has come….

I made an appointment to be seen at Capital Women’s Care and was emailed paperwork by the nurse and filled it out, along with sending all my records from previous gyn procedure. Then before my appointment I had a text message with another 30-40 minutes of the same, or similar paperwork to fill out. Then when i got to my appt I had even MORE paperwork to fill out, both at the kiosk and in paper form. The exact same questions I had answered via text and email. I am a nurse that works in a high risk ob clinic and the amount of redundancies and lack of streamline in their paperwork was shocking and comes across as disorganized and unprofessional. Especially when I had my appointment and it was very apparent the provider had never even looked at my paperwork or records that I had sent in weeks prior. I went back a few weeks later for a yearly well woman there was more paperwork and the kiosks prompted me all the same Questions and then also to pay a $70 co-pay, which for the free yearly well woman wasn’t needed. I just left the kiosk without paying and went to ask the front desk and she said “oh yeah, you don’t need to pay that”. If I wouldn’t have known my insurance I would have paid that unnecessarily. It makes me wonder how many women are just paying whatever the kiosk prompts them to. The office is extremely busy with a very full waiting room the entire time I was there. After the appointment I received a EOB statement in the mail saying it was covered by my insurance and all was fine. I changed jobs, moved to a different state few months later and then over a year later received a phone call from a collection agent from Capital Womens care saying my insurance did an audit and I wasn’t eligible for coverage during that well woman exam and I had to pay the full thing in full-plus an additional 25% fee. No phone call or anything before it was sent to collections. I never saw a bill. I’ve never had anything sent to collections before and I was so upset and from reading other reviews, it seems like this is common practice with them. I paid it in full to the collections and will deal with my insurance to try to get reimbursed from them but as a women’s healthcare worker myself I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with the clinic on so many levels and would never recommend them to my friends or co workers. On a side note, I had also requested them to send my records from that appt to my new ObGyn which they never bothered to do either. It’s very frustrating to pay that much money out of pocket for such minimal care. And just for transparency, if you are paying out of pocket this is what is charged for a well woman exam with an additional $345 to take out an IUD.

I called the office at 8:42 this morning with concerns about some symptoms I was having, being nervous since this is my first pregnancy. The front desk didn’t seem to listen to what I was saying so they didn’t feel the need to have me come in to be evaluated. I was instead transferred to what was supposed to be the nurses’ line, but turned out to be a random mailbox number but I left a message anyway. After not hearing back for about an hour, I called again at 9:43 and selected the nurses’ line option to leave them another message. I did not hear back all day, and just received a call back from Kim, one of the nurses, at 5:39 pm. I unfortunately just missed the call and when I tried to call the office back at 5:40, the phones were turned off because the office is closed. I am very disappointed in this lack of patient care.EDIT: I just got a call from Nicole, the office manager (it’s 7:44 pm). She clearly takes patient care very seriously and explained the situation to me. I truly appreciate the time she took to reach out and check on me, and offered to fit me in to the schedule tomorrow even though I am sure the schedule is already overbooked. She was empathetic and kind in a way that she did not have to be and I am over impressed. Thank you, Nicole!

If you have Endometriosis - this is the place to go.Dr. Nadim Hawa saved my physical and mental health due to his care. After spending 15 years being gaslit by OBs and medical professionals (like so many other women with Endo), then finally having multiple surgeries, including a hysterectomy, only to have my Endo come back, Dr. Hawa was a last-ditch effort to find someone who might be able to help. Not only did he spend a long time listening to my medical journey, but his understanding, compassion, and reassurance are something I have never - in the decades that Ive been going to doctors, ever experienced. He answered all my questions, scheduled me for excision surgery - and then got rid of the endometriosis in my body once and for all.Its been 7 months since my excision surgery and Ive healed wonderfully. (I love that Dr. Hawa was also mindful of all the other surgery scars that I have from the past and worked around/with them to reduce any chance of recovery issues). His practice of leaving a video message for you in their app post-surgery detailing what happened is also incredibly helpful and appreciated. You can tell, even upon your first visit with him (and Ive had several friends visit him since) that he truly cares about his patients and is an expert on treating and addressing Endometriosis. If you are high risky run!!! I had my daughter almost a year ago. Probably one of must traumatic experience of my life. None of doctors in this facility communicate with one other or bother to read each other notes. Dr. Stokes Was probably the most unprofessional. I had my daughter on a Friday, was on magnesium before her birth and 2 days after. I discharged on Sunday night with still high blood pressure. They send what they called new BP medication if the doctors would have read the notes they would have known I was already on same medication. On my discharged note it’s said to follow up on Monday with Dr. Tyan. My weak self goes into the office on Monday when I get there everyone was so surprised and they said no one told them I would be coming in. I get the for a doctor to see me that day and him to also to see me while he had his lunch mouth full of food and couldn’t let me expressed my concerns. All he told me was to continue taking my blood pressure medication that it will get better. I write this email almost a year later to warn anyone with a high risky pregnancy to find a different practice. While I was at hospital nurse told me they always experiences the same thing they can never get a hold of a doctor or they all don’t communicate with each other. I knew it’s was bad when the nurses we’re worried for me and my baby more than any of these doctors.

I was nervous to deliver my third baby since it had been 10 years from my second child. Loren Ivey made the entire experience amazing. We had good labor and delivery experience with our other children but she went above and beyond. She included my husband throughout the process as well which was great for the both of us. She was very knowledgeable, thorough, and respectful. We were so pleased to have her throughput the entire time. She was great and I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Hawa is an excellent surgeon and received excellent care from him. However I’m leaving a mixed review specifically about an interaction with a nurse. My normally scheduled nurse was out sick so I was accommodated by a different nurse. This nurse asked me if a nursing student can come into the room to observe the appointment. I said yes but then was surprised it was a male nursing student. And then the nursing student did the pap smear which was uncomfortable to say the least. I was too shocked to say anything about it. Please advise the nurses to fully disclose in advance if it is a male or female nursing student and if they will be performing the procedure. Also please check the hygiene procedures as one of the speculum’s that I thought was used was just put back into a drawer without sanitizing.

I drive from Frederick MD, due to the Drs here being overbooked, overworked, and understaffed, which affects how they handle patients. I absolutely love this CWC, I seriously can’t express enough… it’s always easy to make an appointment, the staff is efficient, and it’s been great meeting the different Drs and Mid Wives. I’ve been seeing them since week 8 of my pregnancy, and I’m now on week 24. Carrying my first at 39, and I feel amazing!!

Dr. Hawa has been the biggest blessing for me and my family! The first doctor that listened, educated, and took action. I went to Dr. Hawa back in February about my painful periods and my PCOS. He instantly made me feel heard and seen! The first doctor that didn’t brush it off and say take birth control. He was certain from my symptoms, I had endometriosis and endo cyst. We scheduled my procedure for April 27th (the only way to know for sure). He was RIGHT! Day one after surgery I immediately felt relief in my back. He was able to discover a hole I had with endometriosis tissues that was causing a lot of my back pain. Yesterday was my first official period outside of my recovery. I truly feel like I’m in a new body. No serve pain or cramping. Everything felt dull then it went away. I’ve lost weight and I’m not bloated with the pregnant belly. Not only has he been a blessing to me but my sister as well! He cares about all his patients and takes his time to make sure you understand and are okay! I will be going to Dr. Hawa for all my female issues moving forward. I can’t express enough how much he’s truly saved our lives!

I recently had a hysterectomy with Dr. Hawa and when he got inside I had lots of scar tissue. Dr. Hawa was great and he was able to fix the problem. Dr Hawa did a great job explaining everything to my husband and I. After my surgery I was still experiencing some pain. Today I called the office and Dr Tyan was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. Dr Tyan took his time explaining to me why I was still in pain, and then he came up with a treatment plan. My daughter recommended Capital Women’s Care to me and I am glad she did. The doctors are really personable and take good care of you. The rest of the staff is friendly and very helpful. I’m done having babies but I will definitely still use them for all my other health care needs.

I highly recommend Dr. Hawa and CWC Ashburn. Dr. Hawa is the best OB and endometriosis specialist I have found in the area. Dr. Hawa treated me for endometriosis and did my laparoscopy which he suspected was a cause of my infertility. I appreciated his straightforward but personable demeanor and also that he took time to answer all my questions. He is a highly competent and skilled surgeon and doctor. His treatment of my endometriosis led to our first pregnancy after 4 years of infertility. The care we received by Dr. Hawa and his staff during my pregnancy and subsequent delivery was also top notch. I had appointments with the midwives Loren and also Dr. Tyan and they were all very professional and personable as well. Dr. Hawa managed my pregnancy complications and also delivered our baby safely via c section. We are so grateful to Dr. Hawa and this practice for treating my endometriosis and also for being able to have a successful pregnancy.

I hate to write this review because Ive experienced both good & bad from this clinic, but I want to give a review because good gynecological care is important. The good; the front desk professionals were all wonderful every time I went in. One of the nurse practitioners is great. The other, Rachel, is not great, in my humble opinion. Although she seems competent, she doesnt have a great bedside manner. That could be for a variety of reasons, but when it comes to OB/GYN care, you want someone you feel you can talk to about any issues or things you need assistance with and she is not that type of person, in my opinion. She seemed cold and distant instead of friendly and personable to me. Maybe it was a bad day for her or maybe she was just having an off day, but after experiencing her level of service, I never wanted to speak to or see her again. I will add that the other nurse was the complete polar opposite when I interacted with her. I was supposed to have surgery with one of the doctors and I was told someone would call to schedule. No one did. Normally, I would call myself after not receiving a follow up call as promised, but truthfully, I took the surgical team not calling me as a sign. NEVER rush to hand someone your business if they dont seem eager to earn your business, especially when there are other options. I always measure things by asking myself if I would want a beloved family member coming to a place and, for this particular clinic, the answer is a resounding NO! Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend this location to someone I cared about! Between having to wait on hold when I did call, not being called when expected and having a less than stellar experience with the nurse, I would want someone I truly cared about to go elsewhere. Thats my suggestion to you.

Well I will not prefer to go back to them if I have too because I didn’t like the quality of their service. During pendamic they were appointbing so many patients at once because they didn’t care if pregnant patients waiting for hours . They weren’t doing any follow up. Trying to reach obgyn is impossible over phone if you have any urgency. Only leave voice message and then wait if someone else call you back which usually never happened at least in my case. And if you call again over again so then all you end up talking with receptionist. Also I had other medical issues and surgery after performing C-section with doctor nadim hawa and his assistant because of their negligence and I suffered a lot .

My first baby is 6 weeks old and I am debating having another ASAP just to see the doctors and staff in this office more regularly! Dr. Hawa helped every step of the way with my high risk pregnancy due to sky high blood pressure which should be concerning/scary for a first time mama but I felt comfortable with his recommendations every step of the way until delivery. Dr. Tyan always made me feel happy and excited about the pregnancy and is such a genuine person. I didn’t get to met Dr. Duggal until my delivery but was so happy she helped bring my baby into the world. She gave such positive reinforcement throughout the labor process. Erin is my regular provider and why I started with the practice & will continue to go to her for my regular checkups. She is so personable and listens to all my questions. She’s amazing! After learning I was pregnant, I immediately sought to change my OB to a more encompassing practice. I did extensive research, and I kept seeing Dr. Hawa’s name come up. I decided to have a consult, as I was also a little weary about having a male OB, to be honest. From start to finish, my appointment was nothing but first class! The staff was incredibly professional, yet very warm and genuinely cared about me and my pregnancy journey. They were very thorough-from every step of the appointment, I felt handheld and understood (I have health conditions that make me high risk). That was HUGE. When I sat down with Dr. Hawa, I immediately felt that he was “the one” who I wanted to deliver my son. He took an uncommon amount of time to discuss, explain, and ultimately reassure me of my health issues, what to expect, his approach to pregnancy and delivery, and even congratulated me many times on how I was doing as a mother when I felt unsure due the high risk aspects. I felt extremely supported and taken care of already. My appointment lasted TWO hours, which again, is very uncommon for an OB to spend this much time with a patient. Needless to say, Dr. Hawa is the best of the best, and I’m a patient for life. I can’t imagine doing this without him or the wonderful staff. Do yourself the best favor and make an appointment with them. You won’t regret it! *Also, my husband has been allowed to come to the appointments, which is SO appreciated given the pandemic and many offices not offering this*

The doctors here took care of me during a very complicated and scary pregnancy. I was hospitalized for over a month and I saw at least one of them everyday. They all have different styles, but I trust each of them immensely. Hawa and Tyan are so personable, kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. Stokes has such a wealth of knowledge and he is very calming and reassuring. Duggal cares deeply for her patients and will leave no stone unturned. The office manager, Nicole, is AMAZING. She is such a fierce advocate for patients and genuinely cares if something doesn’t go right. The only thing I found lacking was the front office staff. Phones often went unanswered, paperwork I needed filled out was forgotten or misplaced, and there was not much warmth. I think this was right when the two offices merged, so I’m hoping the staff was simply overwhelmed and working out the kinks.

He is caring and is just an all around nice person who genuinely seems to care about his patients. The front end office staff has not worked out for me at all, however. I’ve been trying to reach the office to set up an appointment to see him for over a week. I’ve tried calling and messaging. I reached a sweet triage nurse who tried to assist me, but even when she spoke to the front-end staff and they told her that someone would reach out to me, no one called or messaged me back to help set up an appointment. This has been so incredibly frustrating. I messaged another practice over the weekend who called me this morning to set up an appointment. At least if I go with this other practice, I know they will be responsive. Sad to leave Dr. Stokes, but it feels necessary at this point.

I don’t even know where to begin putting into words how grateful I am for the care of Dr. Hawa. At 34 years old I struggled for the last few years with chronic pelvic pain and emergency room visits with ruptured cysts. It wasn’t until this year I found out I had Stage 4 recto vaginal endometriosis. Prior to seeing Dr. Hawa I had two other consults with other pelvic pain doctors. It wasn’t until I sat across from him at his desk in his office that I felt I was not only getting answers but a plan that I was comfortable with moving forward.I was discharged home today from the hospital after a rather intense surgery due to the disease that consumed my pelvis. Dr. Hawa’s compassion as a surgeon for what he does has absolutely changed my life. I look forward to my recovery and truly cannot thank him enough for all he’s done for me.

After I was pregnant, I chose here to have routine physical check untill my baby was delivered. Right now I regreted that I havent changed OB. WONT RECOMMEND NADIM for every responsible mom!He is so negative towards any medical interference. If everything is good, of course no medical care is needed. But who can gaurantee your pregancy journey is always smooth? What is the point of having an OB doctor? And the nurses at his office are very unprofessional!!! They never gave me any call to inform my test results throughout all those months, even they promised that they would make a call once result comes out when every time I asked them. So I had to chase them to ask the healthy condition of my baby, to chase them to know the gender of my baby. When my baby turned out to be small at 32 weeks, the doctor didnt say much. Even when my baby appears to be extermely small (less than 1%) at 36 weeks, he didnt meet me or even call me. I had to call his office several times a day to get a response from the office! Still no help from the doctor! Nurses at the front are arrogant and indifferent. I was lost and panic, and because of that I delivered the baby at the midnight one month before the due time, totally unexpectedly. My premature baby went through a lot. Stayed in NICU for two weeks and went to rehabilaton center for a long time. Now she was almost 10 months old. Luckily, she is healthy right now. But when I looked back, I was so regreted that I chose this doctor. Even more angry when I was told being bregnant is not sick, bla bla bla. I am well educated to understand it. I am talking about the doctor and the nursess altitudes! When the specialist sent my file back to Dr. and told me based on my results, my OB would contact with me right away. However, one day passed, there was no phone call. I had to chase behind the nurses again and again to ask what Dr. thinks. The nurse in the front desk even lied that she never received the report back from the specialist. How ridiculous!! I witnessed the report sent by fax. When I pointed out, she changed her words into the report was here so late yesterday. How??? And Nadim Hawa never connnected with me utill I was moving out of hosptital. Even we made the emergent calls to his office several times when I was heading to the hospital because of suddern water break.Overall, strongly unrecommend this office!!!!Now I am waiting to see how the owner will update their response to my edited review after several months have past.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now my child is 3-year-old. She went through a lot. We have been living in two different countries till now. Luckily, the doctors and nurses later take care of us are super professional. I have been living in three different countries and a least five different cities so far, this place still holds the worst experience.

I had really wanted to go into labor on a night that Dr. Tyan was on call as I had seen him primarily throughout my pregnancy, but my water broke on a Thursday night. Dr. Hawa was extremely encouraging, and supportful during my labor/delivery! We had a scary moment when her shoulders got stuck on my pelvis, among other issues..he did his best to calm me down in that moment, and push me through the rest of the delivery so that she could get the care she needed right away. I can’t thank him enough or recommend him enough to others because of his caring, and amazing bedside manner! I will continue to make the hour drive from DC to Ashburn to see him and Dr. Tyan!

For any first time Mom, I cannot recommend the CWC in Ashburn enough! I wish I would have attended this office much earlier in my pregnancy. For the first two trimesters, I attended the CWC in Leesburg. The service was okay; I met with all 5 providers and while each one was professional, I couldnt help but feel as if I was being treated more like a transactional number at the DMV than a newly expecting mother. While I understand pregnancy is not a new phenomena, I was surprised at how little additional effort seemed to be offered during my appointments. I also received a number of comments on my weight gain (I am overall a slim size and have added roughly 40lbs over the duration of my pregnancy) which were frustrating as I knew I was being both healthy and precautious. After consulting with friends in the local area (who shared similar experiences at the CWC in Leesburg), I switched to the CWC in Ashburn and couldnt be more thankful or happier to have found their office! My only regret is not having made the switch earlier. Every person I have interacted with (to include all the front desk receptionists) have been incredibly kind and welcoming. Loren (one of the midwives) has been wonderful in every way! She has offered me a wealth of tips and knowledge, while quelling my fears. She has given me the confidence to finish my last trimester on a strong note while helping me trust my gut as I prepare to enter motherhood. She really is one of a kind in the best way possible!I dont write this post to disparage the professionals at the CWC in Leesburg but to encourage any Mom (new or experienced) to ask themselves the following question: Why settle for less (regarding such a special, delicate manner) when better exists?. The professionals at the CWC in Ashburn are truly best.

I would highly recommend Capital Womens Care. I have had my pregnancy care with both Dr. Hawa and Dr. Tyan in 2020 and have provided excellent care. I have had a miscarriage earlier that year and Dr. Hawa was very supportive. At that time Dr. Tyan was just starting at the practice, but was able to deliver my son without any complications. During the postpartum period I have experienced postpartum depression and Dr. Tyan was able to see me very quickly and help me get out of the depressive state. I have also seen Erin Young, NP for gynecological care, both prior to my pregnancy and afterwards. Her Pap smears are very gentle and she has been very thorough with discussing birth control options and infertility work up.I am a Physician Associate in Womens Health myself and I would recommend this practice to all my friends and family.I just want to point out since I see negative comments about wait time and being put on hold. Yes it happens but that means the provider is with another patient. Their concern might be more complicated and might require longer visit, just FYI.

I recently had surgery with Dr. Hawa for an excision of endometriosis about two weeks ago.I met Dr. Hawa a few months ago at my first appointment. He was very very very thorough. He took his time to talk through and explain endometriosis on a level that all patients could understand. He was a big advocate for endometriosis and making sure that all patients were heard. He explained absolutely everything. I have been to several doctors and had a previous (wrong) surgery to treat endometriosis. I have never met a more passionate doctor about what he does and how he advocates for his patients. It took all I had not to cry during my appointment because I finally felt heard. After 15 years of being dismissed, I finally felt like a doctor was listening to understand and to help.During my pre-op appointment he took the time to answer all questions and concerns. He explained the surgery in detail. He took his time with everything. I left this appointment in tears as well because I finally felt like I would have a good quality of life after this surgery.A few hiccups due to surgery time changing (which happens) but even with the rush into surgery (me being late due to time change) he was calm, confident, and collected.I woke up from surgery and could finally move without aching within 3 hours of waking up post op.A few hiccups with post op infection (which also happens) and front desk miscommunication which was solved by Dr. Hawa himself and his Office Manager, Nicole. Nicole was very nice and willing to help solve the issues, and I apologize for the uproar. Resulting in me speaking with Dr. Tyan, who was extremely nice and helping as well. I know these doctors are extremely busy, so I appreciate him calling me to put my concerns to rest.Post op appointment went well, as usual Dr. Hawa was amazing and very informative about what happened during surgery and explaining recovery.I will refer anyone and everyone to Dr. Hawa and his team. I hope to return to Dr. Hawa during my next pregnancy for he and him team are the only OBGYNs I trust now!Madison Maxey

Some doctors you’ve seen multiple times won’t remember you and others won’t bother to read your chart before going in your room for your scheduled prenatal visits, others do. Some of the front are friendly but you really have to call multiple times to get any issues resolved so it’s a lot of work on your end. Dr. Nadim Hawa is most caring and knowledgeable OBGYN that I have ever come across. From the very first visit I felt heard and cared for. I can’t thank him enough for the excellent quality of life that I am living today. We initially met Dr. Hawa for pregnancy related concerns that led to diagnosing stage 4 endometriosis. Diagnosis itself can be very tricky and complicated process that couldn’t have been detected with extreme medical knowledge and care. Dr, Hawa went above and beyond in answering questions, educating, and filling confidence in my family. He is also a wonderful human being who made us feel strong in every stage of the treatment process. His every appointment gave us hope and that continued throughout the extensive journey of my endometriosis treatment. Dr. Hawa demonstrated extreme diligence during the procedure and changed my whole opinion on how excellent a medical condition be treated with proper care and concern from a medical professional like Dr.Hawa.I suffered with unexplainable symptoms of the pain conditions for several years and visited many OBGYN’s within US and internationally. Unfortunately, the nature of this medical condition in gynecology is so complex to suspect at endometriosis. Dr. Nadim Hawa was the first doctor who diagnosed me with endo and then together with Dr Paul Tyan, and his team, treated me for Stage 4 endometriosis. Their operating procedures were extremely precise and compassionate and that was absolutely necessary for treating a medical condition like mine and I wish to have visited Dr Hawa and his team much earlier in my endo life.Results:1.) Within 3 months post procedure, I got naturally conceived and very recently delivered a baby.2.) Pain levels are almost gone after Endo treatment, and I feel proud to being a woman. In my opinion, Dr. Hawa is exceptionally a world class medical professional in the field of OBGYN and my family expresses utmost gratitude to his professionalism in patient care.I would also like to take this opportunity and mention Dr Roopa Duggal efforts in making my baby delivery process much natural and seamless.

So 3 is the average, and here’s why:First of all, 5 stars to Dr Hawa himself. Incredible doctor. I transferred to this practice for him specifically. I was pregnant with my second baby and was hoping for a VBAC. Dr. Hawa and Dr. Tyan were wonderful and supportive about this. They always supported me and the type of birth I wanted. In the end I luckily at Dr Hawa with me and had a successful VBAC in October 2021. Both Tyan and Hawa, 5 stars! It’s the rest of the staff that absolutely ruins this practice for me (and for many others. Many people I had recommended this practice to are also leaving for similar complaints).First, it all started with the merge. They merged with another practice that brought in two other doctors. I know many many people go to Hawa and Tyan because they are known as VBAC supportive, so why they merged with two doctors that have way different philosophies and thoughts about it are beyond me. The merge came towards the end of my pregnancy and both new doctors had me doubting I could have my VBAC. They are not supportive at all. (Sorry to use who wants to TOLAC, we’re really limited in options now!) it added so much stress to the end of my pregnancy since I didn’t know which dr would be on call when the time came to deliver. The merge also made the office a mess. Like a total chaotic mess. In the beginning it was understandable: it was new. Everyone was getting into the new swing of things. I was totally patient with the lack of appts, long wait times, shuffling me around the schedule and the general no one knew what was going on. But it only got worse over time. I overheard the office staff talking about how they needed to force patients to see the two new doctors even though they didn’t want to because they needed more patients on their schedule and people didn’t want to see them (they’re way different than hawa and Tyan. I will never understand this merge). The nurse never called me back when I’d call with questions during my pregnancy. When I’d call the front desk to schedule appts or anything I’d be on hold for 20 minutes sometimes. Sometimes it’d just hang up after a long hold. But what killed the deal for me and is making me leave for good is what happened postpartum. At my 6 week postpartum check they discussed birth control as normal as said they’d call it in. They never did. I had to call 3 times (and left voicemails) and finally wrote through the portal and finally got ahold of someone who said they’d get it called in. They called a different pill than was discussed at my appointment, but I was so tired of trying to talk to them I decided to just try it. I had a horrible reaction to the pill. Immediately gained 7 lbs, became super depressed, felt so sick etc etc. I’ve taken birth control for more than a decade and had never had such s severe reaction. I called asking if I could just stop it and try something else. I left a voicemail. Never heard back. Two days later I called and left another voicemail. Never heard back. I left 5 voicemails on the nurse line and never heard back from them. I ended up just stopping the pill (and am feeling so much better-proof it was the pill) and now have to find an OBGYN who actually cares enough to call me back when I call saying the medication they prescribed me is making me super depressed. A friend I recommended there is at the end of her pregnancy and told me she’s still waiting on a call from a voicemail she left 3 days ago and she’s 38 weeks pregnant. The merge ruined this office. It’s a mess. It’s chaotic. Hawa and Tyan are wonderful, but the whole office is chaotic and a mess. If you want to be able to actually get ahold of your doctor, want them to call you back, give you the time of day, and care about you, go somewhere else.

As a high risk patient (blood disorder), I was skeptical about seeing someone different with my second pregnancy but those fears were erased within 5 minutes of meeting him. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, his staff are courteous and helpful. Thank you Dr. HAWA for a wonderful experience!

Im not even two weeks postpartum yet and simply couldnt wait to write this review for Dr. Tyan! I joined CWC at about 6 months pregnant. Understandably so, I was a bit nervous having just left a practice Id been with since my teens and also being so far along in my pregnancy. A few minutes after meeting with Dr. Tyan, however, I immediately felt reassurred and confident in my decision to move forward with CWC. I felt heard and seen with genuine care. He clearly thoroughly reviewed my history and was very careful in his tone and detailed explanations of how wed proceed with my necessary induction. I was comfortable putting all my trust in him. At the hospital, he ensured that the entire labor process was best case scenario. His timing and techniques (from cervical exams during labor to perineal tear stitch work) are truly expert level.Thank you, Dr. Tyan, for guiding this first time mama through a successful delivery. Youre truly blessed and amazing at what you do and my family and I appreciate you more than you could imagine.

I cannot recommend Dr. Nadim Hawa and his team at Capital Womens Care Ashburn more highly! I came to Dr. Hawa seeking endometriosis surgery after years of progressing symptoms and meeting with three other endometriosis specialists who were not the right fit. I knew from my first meeting with Dr. Hawa that he was the best person to move forward with. He is not only one of the best endometriosis specialists in the country (see iCare Better), but also a genuinely compassionate person who cares deeply about his patients. He validated my pain and was always willing to answer my many questions and explain everything to me. He is at the forefront of medical research and treatment for endometriosis and pelvic pain. I had excision surgery with Dr. Hawa at Inova Loudoun (also an incredible team) and he diagnosed me with Stage IV endometriosis; despite the pervasiveness of the disease, he was able to excise all of the endometriosis, restore my anatomy, and preserve all of my organs (i.e., no damage to/removal of ovaries despite endometriomas). My recovery has been quick and without complications and I am already experiencing symptom relief only 2 weeks out from surgery. Dr. Hawas team of nurses, office staff, and billing/insurance specialists were responsive, kind, and knowledgeable, and supported me tremendously through the process of surgery and treatment. If you are in the DC/MD/VA area and experiencing any potentially endo-related symptoms, you should absolutely meet with Dr. Hawa. I will be forever grateful that I found him.

I am beyond grateful to have found Dr Hawa! I had a diagnostic lap (with a different doc) where ablation was done to eliminate my endometriosis...after a year my symptoms were back, I tried fertility treatments with no luck. After my symptoms became worse, I saw a few new doctors but no one had answers. I did a lot of research, and found Dr Hawa, an endometriosis specialist in my area. Based on the symptoms I told Dr Hawa he immediately had an idea of what the problem was - I had surgery to excuse the endometriosis that was found, a couple weeks later! My quality of life has improved 100%. Dr Hawa said give it 3-6 months and we should conceive naturally....well at the 3 month mark we found out we’re pregnant! Dr Hawa is kind, knowledgeable and very personable. I don’t ever want to see any other doctor, and I’m so glad that he will be delivering our baby!

In October of last year I entered the emergency room with a really chronic pain. After a lot of tests I was told that I had 2 cyst. One of the cyst was so big that the doctor suggested to do surgery to avoid the ovary to erupt. Two weeks after I had my first surgery. During the surgery, he drained the big cyst and closed me. It took me over a month to recuperate. However when I started my cycle I started having more pain that before. Things got worst.I look for an specialist and found Dr. Paul Tyan. During the consultation he read the result of my prior surgery. He stated that some doctors do not fully clean their patients because of the lack of knowledge and experience. However, thats better than having them compromising an organ. So again I put my live in God hand and decided to go through my second surgery. The next day after my surgery even though it was uncomfortable I got out of bed. I made myself some chicken soup and I felt just fine.My recovery was amazing, in less than a week I felt myself. However I took the doctor suggestion and rest during the entire week.I have my cycle twice without pain for the first time in my life. To be honest I didnt even realize that I was getting it.I tell everybody that my doctor had angels hands, I highly recommend Dr. Tyan to anyone that is going through the same situation. He did what he told me, he went in took out both of the cysts and clean the endometriosis. Its Amazing, how good I feel.the first time in my life. Dr. Nadim Hawa was the first doctor who treated me for endometriosis. I had suffered with symptoms of the condition for many years but no other doctor I saw previously had the expertise in diagnosing/treating it or the compassion that Dr. Hawa showed me. He performed a successful laparoscopic surgery on me and removed over a dozen instances of endometriosis in various spots. Two weeks later, I am confident that treatment by Dr. Hawa will give me a new existence without suffering in chronic pain. Thank you to Dr. Hawa and all the healthcare workers at Capital Women’s Care Ashburn for your excellent care.

Dr. Nadim Hawa is one of, if not the most, caring and impactful physicians I have ever had. He is one of very few endometriosis specialists in the US who I could trust to excise my endometriosis with the best skill, knowledge, and experience, and only one of two physicians in the US who accepted my insurance (a saint). He was the only endometriosis specialist in the country who could treat me in a timely manner. After journeying from California, he and his office worked with my travel schedule to help me get an appointment, scan, and surgery within the same week. I have never interacted with a physician who believed my pain so whole heartedly, and supported me throughout my treatment. Next year I will be matriculating into medical school, and I hope to one day become half the doctor Dr. Hawa is. The office manager Nicole was also wonderfully communicative while helping me file an out of state disability insurance claim - thank you Nicole!

I truly do not understand how this office has such a high rating.Youre left on hold for 20 minutes or longer when calling to make an appointment. Rarely did I have someone pick up the phone and talk to me within 5 minutes. The nurses either dont pick up or they promise to talk to the doctor and call you back -- they never call back. Youre told a prescription will be called into the pharmacy and yet you have to follow up multiple times to make sure it actually gets called in.Dr Hawa was great and empathetic in person, but that doesnt make up for terrible office management, constant miscommunication, lack of out-of-office support, and having to constantly follow-up to get a treatment plan for a potential emergency situation. I literally had to email Dr Hawa to get any type of response from the office. He was always very apologetic and he stepped in to address miscommunications, but then something else would go amiss.I ended up having my emergency procedure passed around to a dr not yet merged with CWC and while the obgyn that did it was great, I feel like CWC was not honest with me during the scheduling. I was initially told it would be with Dr Hawa or Dr Tyan whenever I was available. I wasnt told oh yeah, Dr Hawa will be out of office starting tomorrow or availability depends on the hospitals schedule until there were scheduling problems.I then tried to make a post-op appointment to see the dr that performed my procedure and that was impossible because the systems havent merged yet. So, I was told to call back in a few days. And, I called back per requested. Systems still werent merged and there was no dr that can see me for post-op the week I should be seen. This kind of experience erodes a patients trust and is unacceptable. Maybe my experience is just an off-month for CWC Ashburn, but I cant recommend this office until they work out these issues.

I have been suffering with cramps as long as I can remember and I’m in my early 40s. I have gone to every specialist to find the cause of my severe pain I even went as far as having laparoscopic done a couple years ago noting was found a woman knows her body and I definitely knew something was wrong, specially the past year my cramps got so bad 2weeks out of the month I’m literally bedridden with indescribable pain.May, 2021 I had to go to ER due to a severe pain and was diagnosed with fibroids..what!? Followed up with a couple of specialists it was almost like they see many women for similar cases I felt like they weren’t hearing me or understanding what I was going through it doesn’t mean every case is the same. Then I met DR. Hawa from the moment he met me explaining my pain I felt like he could see through me and my pain. He patiently LISTENED to me then he gracefully took his time explaining everything my husband and I have been to many many specialists at that moment we both new he was different. After he examined me he immediately just said let’s schedule your surgery because all the tests that need to be done is in my hand from the ER and the two specialists I just saw weeks prior, for Dr. Hawa it wasn’t about the money at ALL he just wanted to help me he could have done more tests just like the once I did a month ago, a week ago. I had my surgery in August, 2021 and he found I had a sever case of Adenomyosis. I am forever grateful to Dr.Hawa’s compassion and his unparalleled knowledge!!🙏🏽Also, Nicole the office manager is the best. You need anything she’s on the top of it promptly. I had a *horrible* time with another local Ob-gyn and looked for a new doctor at the start of my 2nd trimester. I called Dr. Fosters office, but (fortunately) he was full and they recommended Dr. Hawa.I am so grateful to have found Dr. Hawa - he is caring, patient, informative, understanding, and all around fantastic. On top of that he does all of the little things—including, inquiring as to how youre doing, asking detailed questions, cleaning up the ultrasound gel when hes done with the doppler, helping you up from the table (how this isnt a standard practice, I dont know), following up with phone calls—on top of being a fantastic doctor. I strongly encourage anyone in the area to consider him if youre in the market for an ob.Further, the staff has always answered the phone in a timely manner, dealt with the horrible customer service that is Cigna home delivery, and is quick to return calls. I have NEVER waited more than 15 minutes for an appointment.NOTE: The office is moving to Lansdowne at the start of July 2020 (from Ashburn) and will be more conveniently located by the Inova hospital, if that is important to you!

Every step of the way, from initial phone call to post-op appointment, I have been extremely impressed with this practice. Dr. Tyan should teach classes on bedside manner – yes, he is that good! He listened carefully and answered every single question that I had. He even got a piece of paper to draw and make notes to help explain the procedure. It was obvious that Dr. Tyan has a LOT of experience with gynecological surgeries. His confidence, kindness and sense of humor immediately put me at ease. I felt like we were tackling my surgery together. Even after the surgery, Dr. Tyan called me at home several times to check on my status. I am very grateful that I found Dr. Tyan and his practice. At first, I really loved this place. Always very nice and professional. The doctors are great, but communication is now lacking. I’m not sure if it is because they’ve expanded or if it is specifically a front desk issue, but getting in touch with a doctor is impossible. There is no email (they say they have one- but every time I’ve emailed, I’ve never gotten a response). Not sure if they have a portal, if so it’s not advertised at all so doubt they use it.Every time I call I’m on hold for a while and then have to play phone tag. I appreciate they are busy, but there should be other ways to get in touch with them besides the phone and there isn’t. I am a high risk patient and just don’t feel like they are reachable or responsive. Unfortunate, because I do really like the doctors and nurses, but at this point that is not enough to keep me. I have mixed feelings about this location and CWC in general. They did everything testing wise by the books, but about being a place that goes above and beyond it falls flat (TL;DR at the end).First, do NOT allow yourself to be scheduled with Rachel, she treats you like youve peed in her wheaties. This wasnt a one off bad day attitude, either. As a new patient I was explaining my history because Ive had issues for five years that might paint a pretty good picture for a doctor in whats going on. However, two sentences in, she cut me off, STOP.. thats not what youre here for..., So rude. She also called to give me results once and the phone wasnt giving any audio for one minute. Then I could hear her but she couldnt hear me, then finally when she could hear me she snipped at me I was saying hello but you werent saying anything and cut me off before I could explain it was a phone issue.Second, this place, like many other offices simply doesnt care about you. They throw a band aid on what youre coming in for then suggest that birth control is the end all be all for solutions, shove a bunch of pamphlets in your hands and usher you out.I have had bleeding and yeast issues for FIVE YEARS. They wouldnt know, they never listen to me when I tell them! After all the ordered tests (ultrasound and swabs) came back normal, they resolved to me having a friable cervix and that was it. No next steps, it just is what it is. Have fun bleeding all the time and not being comfortable for the rest of your life. Take some pamphlets, birth control might help - or make it worse. When really they could have suggested other possible hormone solutions or anything other than, oh well, good luck with that. They dont care to look into anything that far.If you want to come here you need to advocate for yourself. Period.TL;DR: Dont get scheduled with Rachel, they dont really care about your complete well-being, they rush you and think BC is the answer to everything, they may or may not remember to call you. Advocate for yourself.

Dr. Paul Tyan is an amazing surgeon for robotic removal (myomectomy) of fibroids. It was a long road to finding him seeing other doctors, obtaining radiology, getting a 2nd opinion. I was so lucky to not only have found a surgeon but the surgeon whose specialty is this specific procedure!Dr. Tyan is a master of his technique having performed many of these procedures in his career and more each week. He utilizes his conservative judgement when making minimal incisions while performing the surgery. Dr. Tyan performed two separate procedures based on my fibroids locations. I am now 4 months post-surgery and feeling great. You can barely see the 3 incisions although a newly formed belly button. I am feeling great and now realize all the side effects that I was just managing prior to the surgery. The office came under new management in between my 1st and 2nd my surgeries. They have made vast improvements in combining their Ashburn & Ballston office. I was a Ballston patient. The second procedure was more streamlined in providing post-surgery triage and follow up and now has become the norm for Ballston patients. The management has invested in their customers by combining their operations to provide improved customer service. I would recommend Capital Womens Care!

The worst experience was when I received a call less than an hour before my appointment and was told I couldnt come after taking time off work to go. Run from this place. It is a total mess.

I have been using this OBGYN since May 2019 and Dr. Hawa is the best this area, but the receptionist isnt good to be honest.I asked fill out FMLA form for a few months ago and she always made some mistakes and had to ask to fill it out 3 times and still havent done it right! I never heard sorry from her about her mistakes and she is sometimes snappy to patients.I hope they improve customers service for patients.

I got my life back and I owe it all to Dr. Tyan! He is an amazing doctor and you can tell he truly cares about his patients. He has wonderful bedside manners and encourages and answers all questions. I urge anyone who has endometriosis to come to this practice! Thank you so much Dr.Tyan for giving me my life back!!

This is the best obgyn I have ever had. My only regret is I did not find him sooner. I have had six children, delivered by three different OBs , and I wish I could have had Dr. Hawa deliver them all. He is caring and he LISTENS. Some times when you have been pregnant 6 times people believe you should know it all but you dont. It is nice that he sits down and talks about all your options. My 18 year old daughter is now a patient. Thats how much I would recommend him.

What a terrible experience I had at Lansdowne office with the Nurse Practitioner Erin. No professional ethics, no ability to answer the professional questions. Long story shot, she refused to provide me a service after I started asking questions about the procedure I was about to take. I was waiting for this procedure for two months. When I came to my appointment she decided she does not like my questions and that I ask too many questions and chased me out the office. It was as shocking as humiliating!

The office staff of this medical clinic is very unprofessional. I had been calling this office to be able to speak to Dr.Tyan.for a month in regards to a medical issue. I left several messages with office staff who answered the phones. Sometimes I called and women would pick up the phone and I would here them talk and tell the other person to hang up. I would call again and just listen to the voice messaging system go through extensions where I left messages and no one responded. I hope many clients will be careful when choosing this medical office. Your office is not professional and your staff needs to be evaluated. There should be surveys in place where clients can make their comments or complaints known.

Capital Women’s Care is truly the best doctors office i have ever been to !! Growing up as a military kid with tons of medical b.s. my whole life, I’ve experienced just about every different type of patient experience and doctor personality you can imagine, until now. I am BLOWN AWAY with how amazing it is to be a patient here and after just having my first baby, i kind of miss going there every week 😅. This is the best doctors office i have ever been to and wish this was a regular doctors office just so i wouldnt have to deal with anybody else! Dr. Tyan delivered my first baby and i hope he delivers the rest of my children!! My plan before covid was to actully have my baby at my hometown in Texas, and then when Covid-19 hit, everything changed. After realizing i had to stay in state for this delivery i was convinced i’d just go to Texas to have my other babies. After labor and delivery and everythingin between , im not convinced i wont make the effort to find Dr. Tyan wherever i (or he) may be so that he can deliver them all! Dr. Tyan is indescribably incredible, sweetly spoken, and actually cares about everything you have going on. He’ll explain things ten billion different ways if he has to, to make sure you’re understanding everything that is going on. As a 20 year old with an unplanned pregnancy, it can be scary, or so id assume if you didn’t have Dr. Tyan and Dr. Hawa to take care of you. There was not a moment in my entire pregnancy or delivery that i felt worried, unsure, or uncared for. I wish i had the words to make this review make sense but the gist of it all is they are truly amazing and i can see myself staying in the area (to live) just to get the continued care i recieve from them. To Dr. Tyan, Dr. Hawa, the front desk crew, and all the nurses, Thank you guys SO MUCH for everything you do, women have it rough when it comes to natures course, and you make it as stress free as possible. Thank you thank you thank you! - MaKaela

I then get a call from the rudest bill collector I have ever spoken to that I owe my total and a 25% interest! I am so upset. I am never late on bills. And now I get a call from a collector! I do not pay bills until I get an EOB. And now this will go on my credit report! So try to avoid this place if you can!!! They will make you end up paying more money!

Run. Don’t walk, away from here. They get you by being awesome the first few appts and you’re sucked in. I recently gave birth and had a few postpartum complications. Without disclosing too much information about myself for fear of the retaliation and comments from the division chief defending their actions, I will try to paint the picture. When I was seen they did a proper test for my issue, told me it was negative when in fact the lab was unable to read the sample. Furthermore, they diagnosed me with something else without doing any of the other required tests. Beware, the NP isn’t covered by the same insurances as the main doctors (which they don’t tell you) and I was slammed with an out of network bill. I have many friends who are patients as well who have had even worse experiences. We are too afraid to speak up. It’s not like our comments to them will go anywhere. They are overwhelmed with patients and their care and attention is lacking and it shows.

Though it was the first time meeting him, I was impressed with his bedside manner...courteous and explained what he was going to do but held my health as his priority. Horrible experience all around. Was seen last Tuesday for a prescription refill. Three days later pharmacy says they have still not received authorization from the office and insurance will not pay without it. Must have called 10+ times within a week time span. Left 2 voicemails, no call backs. Had one person answer the phone and tell me it would be done by the end of the day (it never was) and another tell me they already did it but insurance claimed not to need it. Office is always closed, even in between lunch and actual closing time I receive the voicemail saying they are closed for lunch. My pharmacist had to intervene and call multiple times and was put on hold for 30+ minutes twice, then hung up on. Was told by my insurance that the office was missing pieces in their notes and that’s why they couldn’t pay, but as soon as they fixed the authorization they would complete the payment no problem. It is now a week later and still nothing is fixed. Instead of being helped I have now been ignored many times, to the point of having to come in to the office twice. I’ve had to put all the pieces together and essentially do their job for them. Came here to find a closer gyno after going to the Herndon location for years, now I will stick to driving the distance! Never had any issues with Herndon. After my experience here, I’ve discovered a friend of mine had the same terrible experience I had with this office, having to wait 45 minutes past their appointment time to be seen with multiple complaints. Never again.

I came on time yet I had to wait... to be able to speak to someone on the phone I need litterly to call for hours and if yougave up and end up leaving a message except a call back in the next 2 days 🤯😱It took a week to get results for my glucose test and when I kept calling they said no one will call you if your result are fine 😲I wish it would be better experience for me as I like the doctors; its my first pregnancy but the experience Im having isnt good so far 🙁

Would not recommend this place to anyone unless you have hours of your life to spend sitting in their waiting room. they ask you to show up 15 mins prior to your appt time, just to call you back, 30 mins on a good day, 2 hours on a bad one, past your appointment time. ive come about 5 times in the past few months since my obgyn, loudoun womens health, merged with this god awful place, and without fail everytime i spend forever waiting. today i did mobile pre-check, showed up 15 mins before my appointment, waited 30 minutes past my appointment time(they mustve been slow today), went back and was in the room less than a minute to get a shot. thanks, next time ill just stick it in my arm myself, save an hour of my life. good luck getting anyone to pick up the phone to even schedule a time to get in, because they just let it ring and ring. yikesss

I had my first appointment at this center. Before we went to meet the midwife (who was fantastic btw) I went to the the restroom and my husband was waiting for me by the desk along with an employee. Out of no where, this nurse (I assume because she was in blue scrubs) goes over and starts accusing my husband of looking at PHI and start flipping papers over like he was stealing customer health information. She then had the manager come over and the manager goes on to accuse him of violating HIPAA - When he was merely standing there WITH A STAFF MEMBER waiting for his wife so we can go see the midwife. This just made the staff members come watch whats going on and like my husband was an intruder that was there to steal information. They just made a scene out of NOTHING.Eventually, a staff member had my husband wait in the exam room. After we met with the midwife and were leaving, this same nurse brings another person with her and points to us like they were gossiping about what happened. This is so unprofessional. It just looked like they wanted to make a scene out of nothing. They could have kindly asked my husband to either wait in the reception area or escort him to the exam room instead of accusing him for violating HIPAA when he was just standing there waiting for me.Also it is important to note that a client is not capable of violating HIPAA. This law was put into place for providers, employees, and vendors to protect client PHI from being disclosed without their clients consent. My husband standing near a desk waiting for me to return does not violate HIPAA. This is a serious accusation that I, nor anyone else, should take lightly. Its important that not only the patients but their partners feel welcomed too. You cant expect for your patients to have a pleasant experience when you cant treat their biggest support person with respect and kindness.Front Desk staff and the office manager - Please learn to be kind.

Review №190

When I first came in the front desk staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there.Secondly it seemed like the staff did not communicate among themselves nor read the notes prior to my appointment, as two different staff members had no idea what I was there for. I had spoken to different nurses in the last couple of days and I had was confident that the staff would have read the notes in my chart instead of me having me constantly repeat that I had a miscarriage to different staff.During the ultrasound I was addressed about the miscommunication and the staff was apologetic. It did make me feel better and I was appreciative that the staff acknowledged the error and they were considerate of my feelings and the situation. However, it was towards the end that was more upsetting because I felt completely rushed by the midwife ( don’t remember her name). At first, she did explain and answered a few of my questions, but when she went to look for my ultrasound results, she came back and seemed like she was in a rush. She did tell me she was rushing because she didn’t want me to miss my lab work, but by that time the tech had already left so I didn’t get any blood work done.(Which made me upset because the main reason I was coming in was for blood work to check my levels after being directed by the hospital. I had spoken to two different nurses about the appointment and they had confirmed notes entered and that my bloodwork would be done today. There’s no excuse as to why it wasn’t done today. That was the whole purpose. So this was unacceptable). We went back to the room and again she seemed rushed, so I didn’t even fully get to finish asking all my questions. I asked about postpartum because of my history and she didn’t really seem interested in Digging further or asking more questions she just said she would prescribe something. Lastly, she said she would prescribe the medication that will complete my miscarriage, but gave me no information about the medication. She did not give me any information on what to expect and even worse she did not tell me how to take the medication. I was not aware the form it was supposed to be taken. I found out through the pharmacy (which is not taken orally) and I had a lot of questions and they were not able to answer those questions. As a first time patient here and going through a second miscarriage, I feel they could’ve done a better job at making the patient feel heard and not rushed and most importantly to put at easy the patients fears and answer all their questions. I think they should also make it priority to discuss options with patient and what to expect in the next steps taken. I was left feeling completely lost.Definitely not the best experience.
